Associate Licensed Ministers
Serve the church and community on a voluntary basis by participating in services, ministering the Word, and performing weddings and funerals upon request. Call the church office for contact information.
Deacons
Assist the Senior Pastor in serving the needs of the church family, providing guidance, hope and comfort to members within assigned zip code areas; ensure that, upon request, Salem members are visited and prayed for during times of hospitalization.

Executive Committee
Assists the Senior Pastor with personnel issues and acts on his behalf during extended absences; consists of the Deacon chairman and vice chairman, Trustee chairman and vice chairman, the Treasurer and Asst. Treasurer, and the Chief Operating Officer.
Intercessors Ministry
Prays on behalf of Salem Baptist Church, our city, nation and world; encourages participants to cultivate an intimate relationship with God through personal study of the Word, meditation, intercession, praise and worship.

Mothers
Provide guidance, counsel, and advice to younger women within the church; assist Deacons with the preparation of communion and baptism, and serve in other ways as needed.

Property and Transportation
Property Maintenance
Assist Trustees in maintaining the condition of Salem's buildings and grounds to a high standard of excellence; includes lawn mowing, landscape maintenance, snow removal and other projects.

Security
Assist Trustees in ensuring the safety and security of Salem members and visitors during activities on Salem's campus; prohibit vandalism and theft, and ensure proper parking of vehicles.

Transportation

Baby Dedication
Provides opportunity for parents and families to meet with a pastor for a prayer of dedication, asking God's guidance and praying for the child's salvation, protection, etc. (Note: Salem does not christen or baptize infants)

Bereavement/Funerals
Consoles bereaved families/individuals within the Salem family and serves as a liaison between the family, church staff, and funeral home; also provides flowers, delivers condolences on behalf of the Senior Pastor, and presents messages of sympathy at funerals as needed.

Hospital Visitation
Ensures that, upon request, Salem members are visited and prayed for by a Deacon during times of hospitalization. (Note: visits MUST be requested by the individual or
their family.) To request a visit, call 455-1000, ext. 111.

Nurses
Provide limited medical treatment to Salem members and guests and assist ushers in ensuring everyone's physical safety and well-being while in Salem's facility.

Premarital Class
Prepares engaged couples spiritually for the joyous but solemn step of marriage; designed to build strong marriages based on biblical principles and to help premarital couples understand God's plan for their lives by creating a spiritual bond between husband, wife and God.

Weddings
Ensures that weddings are facilitated smoothly and in compliance with Salem policies and procedures (manual available upon request). Salem's Wedding Director is available at no charge to serve as the wedding coordinator or to serve as a liaison between Salem and an outside wedding coordinator.

Inner Faith Prison Ministry
Ministers to residents of halfway houses as they transition back into society from jail or prison.

Lighthouse Prison Ministry
Ministers to incarcerated women at the Women's Correctional Center in York, Nebraska, through word and song, sharing the plan of salvation, offering baptismal services, and communicating with inmates through newsletters and personal letters.

Men in Action Prison Ministry
Shares the Gospel with male inmates at the Douglas County Correctional Center (DCCC) and offers vocational and educational opportunities to help individuals on work release transition back into society.

Open Heart Prison Ministry
Shares the Gospel with female inmates at the Douglas County Correctional Center (DCCC); encourages spiritual growth and development in inmates as well as volunteers; helps inmates transition back into society; and ministers spiritually to the families of inmates and former inmates.

Foreign Missions

Offers college accredited classes through Grace University each spring and fall on Salem's campus; provides systematic Bible teaching and practical instruction to help adult Christians live and serve in their sphere of influence.
